Immunizations

Our immunization-certified pharmacists prescribe and administer vaccines including RSV, COVID-19, Flu, Pneumonia, Shingles, Tetanus and more.

Walk-ins are available for all vaccines Monday – Friday.  You can save time by scheduling your Vaccine and getting the paperwork done before your visit.

Our staff is happy to review your vaccine records on the California Registry to help you determine what vaccines are right for you.  Please don’t hesitate to ask!

Depending on your age and medical conditions and vaccination history, you may need one or more vaccinations. At Quincy Pharmacy our pharmacists can prescribe and administer recommended vaccinations, bill your insurance company, and answer all of your immunization questions.

Available Vaccines:

Influenza Vaccine: Influenza, also commonly known as the flu, is a viral infection that attacks your respiratory system. The flu season usually begins in October and can continue into May. The CDC highly recommends receiving an influenza vaccine every year.

Pneumococcal Vaccine: Pneumonia is caused by a bacterial infection that can be spread by respiratory droplets. The infection can cause fever, cough, chest pain and difficulty breathing. Vaccination is recommended for all adults over 65 years of age and those with chronic medical conditions (i.e. diabetes or COPD) or weakened immune systems.

Shingrix (Shingles) Vaccine: Shingles is caused by the varicella zoster virus and develops into a painful rash usually seen on one side of the body. The Shingrix vaccine is recommended to help protect adults that are 50 years of age or older.

Tetanus Vaccine (Td): Tetanus is different from other vaccine-preventable diseases because it isn’t spread between people. The bacteria are usually found in soil, dust, and manure and usually enter the body through cuts or puncture wounds caused by contaminated objects. Tetanus is also called “lockjaw” because one of the most common signs of this infection is tightening of the jaw muscles. It can lead to serious health problems, including being unable to open the mouth and having trouble swallowing and breathing.

Whooping Cough (Pertussis) Vaccine: Whooping cough is a respiratory disease caused by Bordetella pertussis bacteria. Pertussis is known for uncontrollable, violent coughing which often makes it hard to breathe. After coughing fits, someone with pertussis often needs to take deep breaths, which results in a “whooping” sound. Pertussis can affect people of all ages, but can be very serious, even deadly, for babies less than a year old. Preteens and teens should get a single dose as well as adults who have never had Tdap. Pregnant women should get a Tdap during each pregnancy.

COVID Vaccine: mRNA vaccines use mRNA created in a laboratory to teach our cells how to make a protein—or even just a piece of a protein—that triggers an immune response inside our bodies. The mRNA from the vaccines is broken down within a few days after vaccination and discarded from the body.

RSV Vaccine: This vaccine contain a part of the RSV virus. This vaccine works by causing an immune response that can protect you from respiratory disease if you are infected with RSV in the future.  One dose of RSV vaccine provides protection against RSV disease in adults ages 60 years and older for at least two winter seasons, when RSV normally circulates.
